Considering the
iContact Camera Pro?
If you’re in the market for a middle-screen webcam, the iContact Camera Pro is one of the most popular options. At $189 it is also one of the most expensive. At that price, it will be worth your time to take a few minutes, to see how it stacks up to the Almost Invisible Webcam Mount.
1. Freedom to choose
The iContact Camera Pro includes a built in 4K camera and microphone. While the camera is tiny (12mm x 12mm) many reviewers have found that it lacks the picture and microphone quality of their existing webcam.
More importantly, it locks you in and doesn’t give you the freedom to choose your favorite webcam, or upgrade to the latest-and-greatest as they become available. In fact, the webcam market is seeing a renaissance with brands like Elgato, Insta360, Lumina and Obsbot introducing several new models every year, with advanced features like AI tracking, hand gesture controls, ultra HD audio and video, and best in class software for Mac and Windows.
The Almost Invisible Webcam Mount, on the other hand, gives you the freedom to put your favorite webcam, with a tripod mount, in the middle of your screen giving you the best of both worlds and not feeling like you’re locked in.
2. How low can you go?
The built-in camera on the iContact Camera Pro is attached to a fixed 4¼” (109mm) arm which is not adjustable. While this may be OK on a 22″ display, it means that it will be nowhere near the center on larger displays and your meeting participants will be looking at the top of your head.
As shown in the image above, there is no limit to how low the Almost Invisible Webcam Mount can go. The standard mount had 5 height settings that will lower your webcam from 2¼” (60mm) to 5½” (140mm) from the top of your screen. If you need to go lower 5, 10 and 12″ extenders are available which give you the ability to position your webcam in the center of any large display, TV or DualUp configuration. And if that is not enough, you can string extenders together to get your desired position.
3. The choice is crystal clear
While the fixed arm on the iContact Pro is only ¼” (5mm) wide, it is black and blocks any text or images underneath it.
At only ⅛” (3mm to be exact) the Almost Invisible Webcam’s hanger is half the width, and comes in five colors, including clear so it doesn’t obstruct anything on the screen.
